MOUNTAINEERS' AND WALKING TRIPS

A traditional winter trip from Sošice to St Ilija's Chapel on the top of Sveat Gera is held every year on last Sunday in January. This is when there is a service in the chapel. Several hundreds of mountaineers gather there. Traditional gatherings on Sveta Gera take place on 1st May and 20th July on the festive day of St Ilija.

CMS "Japetić" from Samobor on the 3rd Sunday in May organizes mountaineers' "Japetićev pohod" along trails of the Samoborsko gorje. Route is different every year. The same mountaineers' society organizes "Sudnikov pohod" in cooperation with Samobor museum. This trip takes place on the first Sunday after Sudnik's birthday (24th October) from Samobor museum via Palačnik to Mountaineers' lodge "Ivica Sudnik" on Veliki Dol.

Trip "On the trail of the first trip of CMS" is organized by Croatian mountaineers' union and CMS "Japetić" from Samobor. The route is from Rude via Veliki Dol to Oštrc and farther to Plešivica via Rancerje and Poljanice. Next is planned in 2015.

Society for sport recreation, Samobor every year organizes several trips to the Samoborsko gorje. Winter march "Towards health" is organized in every February from Samobor to Oštrc and in May from Samobor to Plešivica.

CMS "Željezničar" from Zagreb organizes three trips on Samoborsko gorje every year. In honor of the day of CMS "Željezničar" there is a trip to Oštrc on weekend closest to 5th October. In mid December there is a night trip to Oštrc from Rude when each participant gets a torch for lightening the trail to the mountaineers' lodge. They also organize the trip to Okić via Dragojla's Trail every year.

Spring trip to Žumberak from Sošice to Sekulići to Mountaineers' lodge "Boris Farkaš" is organized every year by MC "Trešnjevka-Monter" from Zagreb. "Jastrebarsko" from Jastrebarsko organizes night trip to Japetić every year between 26th and 30th December. Starting point is restaurant Šumski Cvor in Sv. Jana.
